national / social/political / other press

Juliar Gillard is not only the most unpopular PM Oz has ever had to endure but the most INCOMPETENT! In view of a recent Garnaut report clearly stating that industry (Big Polluters) ALWAYS pass additional costs onto the public, Gillard's claim that 90% of Oz households would be compensated by funds extracted from Big Polluters has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. In a desperate but futile effort at damage control, her office today issued a statement reversing her previous ridiculous, DECEITFUL claim.

The ENTIRE matter is easily remedied by the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS – put it to the VOTE and LET THE PUBLIC DECIDE! If Gillard AND HER IMBECILE political SUPPORTERS are so confident that their American style simplistic LYING campaign is deceiving the A-U-S-T-R-A-L-I-A-N public then put YOUR JOBS on the line, YOU REPREHENSIBLE Labor scumbags! You can shove your CORPORATIST, Wall Street, GOLDMAN SACHS PENALTY TAX up your collective arses!

Report from the Australian follows:

Julia Gillard slips up on carbon compo
by AAP

JULIA Gillard has been forced to backpedal from a promise that seven million Australian households won't be worse off under Labor's carbon tax.

The Prime Minister today told ABC Television that “seven million Australian households won't see a cent lost through carbon pricing”.

But when asked about that pledge her office was quick to clarify.

A spokesman said that Ms Gillard meant to say that of the nine out of 10 households to receive assistance, the “vast majority” wouldn't be out of pocket.

In announcing the scope of the assistance on Sunday, Ms Gillard said “the vast majority we assist actually won't pay any price because of the assistance that they receive”.

Treasurer Wayne Swan yesterday refused to say how many of the seven million would be fully compensated via tax cuts or increased welfare payments.

Ms Gillard today also refused to rule out the possibility that the carbon price won't be announced in July, as promised.

The package - including household and business assistance - was originally meant to be released by the “beginning” of the month.

Now it will be made public as soon as possible.

“We're certainly aiming to get this done as soon as we can ... but we're going to get every bit of this [un-mandated Penalty Tax] right, [for Goldman Sachs and Wall Street]” Ms Gillard said.
