text Pakistanis Reject U.S. 'Aid' Flights Jeremy Scahill via quill, Saturday, Jul 4 2009, 10:47am
Damn those ungrateful Pakistanis. After U.S. drone attacks killed more than 600 of their people since 2006—most of them civilians—it seems they think they have some right to say they don’t want the U.S. flying its “aid” planes to Swat and other “tribal areas.” The New York Times reports that “the Pakistani authorities have refused to allow American workers or planes to distribute the aid in the camps for displaced people.” The paper reports: (story and 1 comment)

text Peru: Blood Flows in the Amazon Prof James Petras via reed, Friday, Jun 12 2009, 11:00pm
In early June, Peruvian President Alan García, an ally of US President Barack Obama, ordered armored personnel carriers, helicopter gun-ships and hundreds of heavily armed troops to assault and disperse a peaceful, legal protest organized by members of Peru’s Amazonian indigenous communities protesting the entry of foreign multinational mining companies on their traditional homelands. Dozens of Indians were killed or are missing, scores have been injured and arrested and a number of Peruvian police, held hostage by the indigenous protestors were killed in the assault. President García declared martial law in the region in order to enforce his unilateral and unconstitutional fiat granting of mining exploitation rights to foreign companies, which infringed on the integrity of traditional Amazonian indigenous communal lands.

Jackie/Michelle -- Desperate handiwork of mass media image ‘Talk is Cheap,’ Obama peptide, Saturday, Jun 6 2009, 3:57am
One of the world’s most enduring clichés is applied whenever lack of character/substance is detected. Only the most insular hillbillies are unaware that Obama is the leading exponent in the world today of DE-VALUING words! In the past America produced outstanding black leaders of INTEGRITY; it should now be abundantly clear that Obama is not one of them! (story and 4 comments and 2 images)

Oz PM, Kevin 'photo op' Rudd image Criminally Incompetent Rudd Government baz, Wednesday, May 20 2009, 11:31pm
The IMF and World Bank were past masters (until Asia woke to the ruse) at enslaving resource rich third world nations with CRUSHING DEBT, which facilitated their rape by first world nations. Impossible debts were incurred by poorer nations, which effectively placed the wealth of those nations at the disposal of those that controlled the IMF and World Bank, primarily the US and Transnational interests! text The Everyday Extremism of Washington Tom Engelhardt via fleet, Saturday, May 9 2009, 2:30am
A front-page New York Times headline last week put the matter politely indeed: "In Pakistan, U.S. Courts Leader of Opposition." And nobody thought it was strange at all.

In fact, it's the sort of thing you can read just about any time when it comes to American policy in Pakistan or, for that matter, Afghanistan. It's just the norm on a planet on which it's assumed that American civilian and military leaders can issue pronunciamentos about what other countries must do; publicly demand various actions of ruling groups; opt for specific leaders, and then, when they disappoint, attempt to replace them; and use what was once called "foreign aid," now taxpayer dollars largely funneled through the Pentagon, to bribe those who are hard to convince.

text Washout USA! nano, Tuesday, Apr 28 2009, 9:19pm
Today’s new torture tolerant, civilian holocaust, America, now ranks with the world’s most obscenely inhuman, criminal regimes. Laotian and Cambodian children continue to die from the millions of tons of unexploded ordnance ILLEGALLY DROPPED in their respective nations during the Vietnam war – no attempt has been made by Christian (hypocritical) America to ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY and assist -- bombed into impoverishment -- nations in the removal of unexploded ordnance. The world capital of DENIAL is loath to face itself and its true murdering, criminal nature! (story and 2 comments)

David Kilcullen, professional! image Aussie military advisor subverts USA from within! Captain, Monday, Apr 13 2009, 1:47am
David Kilcullen, favourite Aussie advisor to the Pentagon and Congress, has finally done it! By telling the idiot yanks exactly what they wanted to hear, Kilcullen has facilitated the demise of America by allowing Pakistan to fall into the hands of (Pashtun) tribals and affording Afghani freedom fighters the time and freedom to RE-GROUP, EXPAND and mount DEVASTATING ATTACKS on foreign occupiers -- we won’t mention the lost Pacific, SE Asia and Africa, but you’ve got to laugh at the ‘effort’ so far! Memories ... image Will China be caught with worthless greenbacks? Mike Whitney via zing, Tuesday, Apr 7 2009, 9:57pm
Fed chief Ben Bernanke has embarked on the most radical and ruinous financial rescue plan in history. According to Bloomberg News, the Fed has already lent or committed $12.8 trillion trying to stabilize the financial system after the bursting of Wall Street's speculative mega-bubble. Now Bernanke wants to dig an even bigger hole, by creating programs that will provide up to $2 trillion of credit to financial institutions that purchase toxic assets from banks or securities backed by consumer loans. The Fed's generous terms are expected to generate a flurry of speculation which will help strengthen the banking system while leaving the taxpayer to bear the losses. It is impossible to know what the long-term effects of Bernanke's excessive spending will be, but his plan has the potential to trigger hyperinflation or spark a run on the dollar. 'CHANGE' image The Smooth Criminal Transition from Bush/Cheney to Obama Larry Chin via quin, Saturday, Apr 4 2009, 6:55am
To sober, clear-eyed observers of history and political deception, the ascension of Barack Obama held the promise for unprecedented new dangers: a revitalized New World Order, led by the Anglo-American empire’s neoliberal criminal faction and an iconic, deceptive new facilitator; and a continuation of Bush/Cheney criminality and war, under smarter and much more effective management.

Now, just months into their tenure, the Barack Obama administration has more than fulfilled the promises he made to his elite constituency, deepening the mass destruction of Bush/Cheney, while charming its victims all over the world into enjoying their own demise. (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

Here's a purely hypothetical scenario. Let's say you were a dedicated imperial militarist who believed that your country's security, prestige and financial interests could best be served by war and the ever-present threat of war. Let's say you had some really hot and juicy operations going on, endless deadly conflicts that were pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into your war machine and entrenching national policy even more deeply in the militarist philosophy – the machtpolitik – that you believe in. The city of London is bracing for widespread disruption over the next week as protesters plan a wave of anti-capitalist demonstrations in the lead-up to the G20 summit of world leaders next week.

Police have warned workers in the financial district to dress down and not draw attention to themselves as protesters target bankers in what is feared will be violent clashes on the scale of the May Day anti-globalisation protests from 2000 and 2001. (story and 1 image)
