Rice comforts Bush at his ranch image Your own private ‘Crawford’ (Texas) quin, Sunday, Aug 17 2008, 12:10am
G W Bush cut a very lonely/ALIENATED figure at a press conference at his ranch in Crawford, Texas today. Like a demented parrot he continued to repeat “demands” that Russia withdraw from ‘sovereign’ Georgian territory, all the while completely unaware that his ‘demands’ inadvertently attract attention to the hundreds of (UNWANTED) U.S. military bases throughout the world! text Living in ‘Interesting Times’ finch, Thursday, Aug 7 2008, 2:26am
History unfolds in the present but is inextricably and dynamically intertwined with the ‘past.’ History is actually an interpretive/constructionist process in the present tense though it appears to relate to past events. The past does not exist; therefore history/everything surrenders itself to interpretation and ‘reality’ construction in the present; the only validity the past possess is that given it by the present!

John F Kennedy image John F Kennedy speech April 27, 1961 fleet, Thursday, Jul 31 2008, 1:10am
A President with integrity invokes the same sentiments as his predecessor Abe Lincoln, who stated, “I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts."

Kennedy refers to the same sentiment in his speech to the Newspaper Publishers Association: “No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. From that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary... I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.” (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

Ramos-Horta and Yudhoyono, sick bastards! image Indonesian Pres. offers no apology to Timor-Leste luis, Tuesday, Jul 15 2008, 9:46am
The longsuffering people of Timor-Leste received no apology today after an inquiry revealed that the Indonesian military and Indonesian security forces were responsible for committing and inciting murder, rape and torture in Timor-Leste in 1999. Approximately fifteen hundred Timorese were murdered by militias and an indeterminate number were raped and tortured after militias went on a rampage killing and destroying crucial infrastructure in East Timor! If anyone is qualified to assist the former Portuguese Colony of Timor-Leste, it’s the former Portuguese colony, Brazil! Principally because former colonies face similar problems and the last thing Timor-Leste needs at this time is another patronising white nation interfering in local politics and development. Lula’s record is proven and his credentials impeccable, impossible to beat! (story and 1 image)

Rice, we're above the Law image Kosovo: Serbs inaugurate regional parliament zoran, Saturday, Jun 28 2008, 10:18pm
MITROVICA -- Serbs affirmed their rights over SOVEREIGN territories Saturday by inaugurating the (AUMAPK) Assembly of the Union of Municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo. The LEGAL declaration by Serbia was immediately denounced as ‘illegal’ by the UN and the secessionist Albanian playschool ‘government’ of ‘Kosova!’ (story and 1 image)

text Serbia: an unlikely alliance rade, Wednesday, Jun 25 2008, 11:13am
As predicted, Milosevic’s Socialists (partisans) have rejected their traditional (cetnik) nationalist enemy and will form a government with Tadic’s west-leaning liberal democrats. The extreme left and extreme right are forming a very shaky alliance, one destined to be dysfunctional from the outset but such is the nature of Balkan politics – shaky alliances are the norm not the exception in Balkan politics.

The extremely successful attack on a Kandahar prison by the Taliban this week (see link) highlights a fact that America and its few allies would rather not face – and that is the world’s ‘greatest military alliance’ is a fucking joke! Open your eyes to the REALITY not the spin! What has occurred since Bush and his allies embarked on their demented PNAC strategies to conquer the world, they have FAILED MISERABLY? America/capitalism is plunging into an economic and political vortex from which it cannot recover, as has become excruciatingly evident to even the most demented fantacist in Washington today! Sunday, June 8, 2008, marked the last day of this year’s annual Bilderberg meeting, which took place in Chantilly, Virginia. The American Friends of Bilderberg, an American Bilderberg front group, which organizes the American participant list for the annual Bilderberg conference, issued a rare press release this year. It stated that, "The Conference will deal mainly with a nuclear free world, cyber terrorism, Africa, Russia, finance, protectionism, US-EU relations, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Islam and Iran. Approximately 140 participants will attend."1 (story and 1 image)

text The [American] Empire -- A Status Report William Blum via fleet, Saturday, Jun 7 2008, 10:18pm
The events of recent years indicate that the world is wising up to and becoming less intimidated by Washington's overarching ambition for world dominance. Latin America is increasingly attempting to escape the empire's clutches. Leaders keenly aware of how US imperialism works and determined to keep it out of their own country are in power in Venezuela, Uruguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, and perhaps the latest addition, Paraguay.

The thoroughly illegal trial of fanatic Islamists at Torture Bay this week will serve only to strengthen the cause of ultra-conservative religionists.

The illegal detention centre, Guantanamo ‘torture’ Bay, hosts the illegal trials and will no doubt arrive at an illegal (guilty) verdict for those accused, illegally held, tortured and denied their rights! (story and 1 image)

mcclellan.jpg image Bush exposed yet again and again and again … Kingfisher, Wednesday, May 28 2008, 10:28pm
I have lost count of the (too) numerous times Bush and senior members of his criminal government have been exposed for gross deceptions and criminal pursuits. If a HOLOCAUST in progress and an ECONOMIC MELT-DOWN AT HOME doesn’t rouse the people what would former press secretary, Scott McClellan, hope to achieve with his revelations? Less than a week prior to McClellan’s revelations, news of the loss/misappropriation of $15 BILLION in Iraq roused only a few yawns from the American population -- 'good luck' with book sales, Scott! Australia is making international headlines for all the wrong reasons again; Aussies seem to have a penchant for eating their boots. Located in the South Pacific under the rest of the world probably accounts for the difficulty Aussies have adjusting to diverse, cosmopolitan populations. (story and 1 image)

In lands far removed from the intrigues of American politics, the lopsided relationship and disproportionate power that Zionist Israel wields over gentile America appears absolutely grotesque; how is it that the world’s most powerful nation continues to kowtow to the wishes of tiny, extremely troublesome, Israel? It presents a most extraordinary sight from afar! Perhaps the advantage of a distant vantage may assist in obtaining an objective appreciation of the REAL reasons behind this absurd relationship. In full view of the Iraqi holocaust and cognisant of the fact that America and Israel are the only expansionist, invasive, plundering, murdering, nations in the world today, let’s call a spade a spade. The criminal USA has deployed another aircraft carrier to the 'Persian' Gulf in a show of force and possibly to prepare for an attack on Iran – China and Russia have no illusions regarding the U.S. military build-up in the region. Uncle Sam may get a bigger shock than anticipated – aggressive warfare comes at great cost though the time of payment may not be immediate! (story and 1 image)

The following AP report announcing NATO’s endorsement of Bush’s missile defence shield in Eastern Europe is sure to create consternation in Moscow and Beijing – and I hope it does! If the Chinese and Russians are incapable of determining when they are under attack perhaps they too should join NATO -- though it is an invitation only military club. At least the offer to join would put the West on the spot and reveal its true intentions.

Tibetan monk image Tibetan monks (hypocrites) redefine Buddhist pacifism nano, Friday, Mar 28 2008, 7:52pm
In a purely Buddhist sense there are no others, pluralisms, life-death or binaries of any kind; hence there is no need to fight as there is no one to fight and nothing to fight against! What the world is currently witnessing in Tibet is pure unadulterated religious hypocrisy – Buddhist robes and shaven heads do not a Buddhist make! That should now be obvious to even the most dim-witted Hollywood film stars and western space cadets! (story and 2 images)

Torturer and Hypocrite image The Dalai Lama’s religious hypocrisy equals the best of the West finch, Monday, Mar 10 2008, 9:45am
Fresh from receiving honours and a gold medal from the world’s most brazen mass murderer and torturer, George W Bush, the exiled Dalai Lama of Tibet has begun another round of China-bashing, which he obviously timed for the approaching Beijing Olympics. Why they call this man a religious leader is beyond rational comprehension. The Dalai Lama today is 100% political and could care less which devil he sleeps with in order to achieve his goals! An interesting turn of events occurred regarding the Serbian province of Kosovo. No more do we hear from the 'brave' Albanian ‘leader,’ Thaci, making declarations that HE will defend every “inch” of Kosovo – apparently he has retreated to the protection of Madeleine Albright’s skirt. Thaci is aware that if he pokes his nose from under the U.S. skirt it will get shot off! (story and 2 images)
