The Cleaves site grew from a request to contribute to a newsletter devoted to eastern philosophy. It was never anticipated that an article contribution to a specialised publication would evolve into a web site dealing with a broad range of subjects; but such are the results of human cooperation.

Public response to the initial site was very positive; however, there were numerous requests to open the site to public involvement in the form of comments and article/story submissions. As a result, we are pleased to inform that the site is now a public publishing medium. It is hoped that the site will become self-moderating and a beacon of free expression dedicated to social unity and the elimination of divisionist ideologies of all types; an ideal worthy of pursuit in today's world.
